US-Israeli Strikes Hit Iran’s Sazandegi Newspaper Building
In a written statement, the IFJ confirmed that the newspaper’s building suffered significant damage in Friday’s attacks, though no casualties were reported.
Founded in 2018, Sazandegi has previously faced government restrictions. The newspaper was temporarily suspended in February 2023 after publishing a critical front-page story on the economy and rising prices, but the suspension was later lifted.
The attacks come amid escalating tensions in the Middle East following large-scale U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran last Saturday, which reportedly killed over 1,000 people, including Ali Khamenei, more than 150 schoolgirls, and senior military officials.
In retaliation, Iran has launched extensive drone and missile strikes targeting U.S. military sites, diplomatic facilities, and personnel across the region, as well as multiple cities in Israel. The cycle of attacks has continued to intensify, fueling regional instability.
