GOALisB, Among India's Leading MBA Admission Consultants, Hosts Live Session With Singapore Management University MBA

NEW DELHI, NEW DELHI, INDIA, October 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- GOALisB MBA admission consulting, one of India's most established MBA admission consultants, hosted a live Q&A session with Ms. Seema Parakkat, Country Manager India at Singapore Management University's Office of Postgraduate Professional Programmes, as part of its MBA Admissions Weekly webinar series.

The session drew strong attendance from Indian professionals across technology, finance, consulting, and operations, a reflection of the sustained interest among Indian MBA aspirants in Singapore as a career base, particularly for those targeting roles in Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and global functions headquartered in the region.

Singapore Management University: Rankings, Accreditation, and What Sets It Apart

The SMU MBA ranks third in Asia and 41st globally in the QS World University Rankings 2026. SMU holds triple crown accreditation, AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS, making it the only triple crown accredited business school among Singapore's top three universities, a distinction shared by approximately 150 institutions worldwide.

The programme was built in partnership with the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, which shaped its pedagogy from the outset. The result is an American-style, case-based, discussion-driven classroom, not passive content delivery. In some courses, more than 50 percent of the grade comes from classroom participation. The campus sits on Stamford Street in the heart of Singapore's central business district, placing students inside the financial and corporate ecosystem they are preparing to work in.

Why Indian Professionals Are Looking at Singapore

For MBA admission consultants in India, Singapore has become one of the most frequently asked-about destinations over the last three to four years. The reasons are structural.

Singapore operates as the Asia-Pacific headquarters for companies across North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia. English is the primary language of business. The cost of living, while higher than Indian metros, is significantly lower than comparable MBA destinations in the United Kingdom or continental Europe. And for Indian professionals specifically, Tamil is one of Singapore's four official languages — the cultural adjustment is notably gentler than moving to Europe or North America.

"We are increasingly seeing senior Indian professionals who want an internationally recognised credential and a genuine career base in Asia — not a programme they study at home and later apply abroad," said Shruti Parashar, Founder of GOALisB and ISB PGP alumna. "Singapore ticks both of those requirements, and SMU's triple crown standing and QS ranking put it in a category that is taken seriously by employers across the region."

Programme Structure and Career Outcomes

The SMU MBA runs for 10 to 15 months, full-time. Most international students complete in 15 months; a 10-month track is available for those returning quickly to industry. The programme requires a minimum of two years of work experience, with the current class averaging approximately six years.

The SMU X programme places students in live consulting engagements with real organisations including DBS and the Health Promotion Board, where they are expected to deliver solutions to actual business problems — not simulations.

85 percent of SMU MBA graduates seeking employment find it within six months of graduation. Seema Parakkat was direct on one point that matters for Indian applicants: international business schools operate on a career services model, not a campus placement model. The distinction is structural, and applicants who arrive understanding it are significantly better positioned than those expecting companies to arrive and place them.

Total tuition for the SMU MBA is SGD 82,000. Up to 30 percent scholarship funding is available from the business school. The Academic Excellence Scholarship is available at the time of application for candidates with GMAT scores at the 90th percentile or above.

Admissions Tests and Deadlines

SMU accepts GMAT, GRE, and the SMU Admissions Test. All three are weighted equally by the admissions committee. A GMAT score above 655 or GRE above 325 is competitive. Admissions are rolling — earlier applications receive earlier decisions and first access to scholarship funding.

The January 2027 intake closes at the end of October 2026. Candidates targeting this intake should apply immediately.
